We received such a blessing from the time we spent at Lifeway Baptist Church in Ellettsville, Indiana. Pastor Kevin Albert has been the pastor at Lifeway since 1995 and the church has experienced phenomenal growth. Right now they are in another building program "Building with Christ, One Life at a Time". They hope to be finished by July with this program. It will double the size of their current auditorium and give them a seating capacity of 1,000. They have beautifully re-done their gym to house their church services while their main auditorium is under construction.
This area of Southern Indiana desperately needs this church. It is located just 7 miles east of Bloomington, Indiana - the home of Indiana University and a front for spiritual darkness. They have an ideal location with Spencer to the west and Bloomington to the east.
There was a lot of interest expressed by the people of the church in what we are doing. It is always encouraging when we meet people who understand the need that is in the Northwest for independent, fundamental, Bible-believing and practicing Baptist churches.
Pastor Kevin Albert has been a true friend to our pastor and is a genuine, caring man. We really enjoyed "sitting in" on their Wednesday night verse-by-verse Bible study through 2 Timothy. Last night, the focus was on chapter 2, verses, 23-26. "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. (24) And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, (25) In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; (26) And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will."
God used this to reaffirm to us that HE IS ABLE! We just learned this week of the legalization of marijuana for medical uses in Montana. It has become an epidemic and per capita the use is greater than that of Los Angeles. We need your prayers, and we are realizing this more and more every day.
